This is the simplest and fastest recipe one could ever make. If you have unexpected guests drop in for a meal, this will be your life saver as these ingredients are easily available at home. It can be served with rice, roti or naan. It can made with chicken for non-veg lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 3/4 cup frozen peas
- 2 medium chopped potatoes
- 7 tablespoons of tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of Shan Haleem Masala
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon tumeric powder
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground cumin powder
- 4 cardamoms
- 6-7 black peppercorns
- 4-5 cloves
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- Cilantro to garnish
Method
- Take a pressure cooker and heat 2 tablespoons of oil
- When oil is hot add cumin seeds ,cardamoms, cloves and black peppercorns
- When it crackles add onions ,peas, potatoes, tomato sauce and all the spices
- Add 2 1/2 cups of water and close the lid and cook for 2 whistles
- Turn off heat and let sit for 5 minutes
- Open add lemon juice and cilantro and serve with rice or roti
- For thicker gravy cook without lid on medium heat for a few minutes
