Who does not love Mac & Cheese? I found a fun creative way to elevate your palate and create something different that you and your loved ones can enjoy. These cutlets are delicious and flavorful and very easy to make. When I make the leftover macaroni & cheese into cutlets all the members of my family from the young ones to the elderly all love them.

Serving tip — You can nestle these cutlets in a tiny burger bun and smother them with melted cheese and ketchup.

Mac & Cheese cutlet

These cutlets are made with leftover macaroni and cheese however you can make them from scratch.  You can also make it from boxed macaroni and cheese by simply following the instructions on the box. I basically added mashed potatoes and a few spices to make this awesome cutlet.
You can make and freeze them and serve when the kids are hungry.  It also makes for a great snack at tea time.  Just take them out, fry them, and voila you have a dish to make everyone happy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ready macaroni and cheese
  • 4 medium boiled potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon tumeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs to coat the cutlets
  • Oil to shallow fry

Instructions

  • Mash the boiled potatoes
  • Add to it the mac and cheese and all the spices
Note – I did not add green peppers or hot chili powder as the kids were going to have them. You can spice it up according to your taste
  • Mix it well
  • Make medium sized patties. Tip – I use a measuring cup to get even sized patties
  • Coat them in bread crumbs
  • Cover them and keep in fridge for 30 minutes
  • In a pan heat oil to shallow fry the cutlets to a golden brown. Remove them on a paper towel to absorb excessive grease
  • Serve with corn salad, ketchup or your favorite dip and enjoy
