Manchurian Chicken is a favorite of many south Asian Chinese food lovers .Easy to prepare and can be paired with fried rice or noodles of your choice .
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound skinless boneless chicken breast cut in bite size cubes
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of corn flour
- 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour
- 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Merhod
- Mix the above ingredients in a bowl and let it sit for 10 mins
- Take a wok heat and put oil to deep fry
- On medium heat fry chicken cubes making sure that the chicken is not pink inside
- Set aside
- In a pot put 2 tablespoons of oil
- When hot add 11/2 teaspoon of minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
- 1 green chilli deseeded
- Fry for minute and add 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce (found in grocery store in Asian aisle)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup chicken stock
- Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes
- Take 2 teaspoons of corn flour and mix well with half cup of chicken stock
- Add to the pot and cook on medium high heat till the gravy thickens
- Add the chicken mix well and turn off heat
- Plate and garnish with green onions and cilantro
