Masala Fried Fish And Potatoes

A very simple and quick fix to a delicious mouth watering meal. For seafood lovers this could become one of their favorite dish. It can be served with roti, paratha or rice preferably Yellow rice(rice with masoor daal and tumeric)

Ingredients 

  1. 3 Tilapia fish filets or any fish of your choice
  2. 2 medium sized potatoes
  3. 5 teaspoons of Shan fried fish masala (Available in Indian grocery stores)
  4. 4 teaspoons cumin powder
  5. 7 teaspoons tomato sauce
  6. 1/2 teaspoon tumeric powder
  7. 1 teaspoon vinegar
  8. 2 tablespoons of water
  9. 1 1/2 teaspoon of red masala chutney( kashmiri red chili ,garlic and cumin paste)
  10. Cilantro and lemon slicesto garnish

Method 

  • Mix the above spices to make a paste
  • Marinate the fish and potatoes and set aside for 15 minutes
  • Take a pan and put enough oil to shallow fry the fish first
  • Fry the fish for 3 minutes on each side and remove
  • In the same pan add little more oil if needed and fry the potatoes
  • Add 2 tablespoons of water mix well and cover and cook till potatoes are done
  • Serve the fish and potatoes garnished with cilantro and slices of lemon
