Sheer means milk and Khurma means dates. This desert is made by Muslims all over the globe in the morning of Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha and on other festivals in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other parts of the world. This dish is made with milk, nuts, dates and vermicelli. This is a perfect desert for celebrations.
This recipe dates back from the times of trade along the old Silk Road. It is originally Persian but now popular across the Indian continent and Central Asia. It does not have to be Eid to make this yummy desert. In our household this desert is very popular among the kids and adults so I end up making this quite frequently.
