Tendli (Ivy gourd)

Ingredients

  1. 3 cups cut tendli , cut lengthwise into four and can be cut in the middle to make 8 pieces if you like .
  2. 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  3. 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  4. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  5. 1/4 teaspoon chopped green chili
  6. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  7. 1 Teaspoon paprika
  8. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  10. 6-7 kadi patta ( curry leaves)
  11. 6 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  12. Cilantro to garnish

Method

  • Take a pot put 2 tablespoons of oil
  • When hot add the kadi patta along with garlic,cumin seeds and chili
  • Sauté for half a minute and add the onions Sauté on medium heat until onions are transparent
  • Then add the tendli along with all the spices, salt and tomato sauce and mix well
  • Add 3/4 cup of water and cook between low and medium heat till vegetable is cooked and there is no water
  • Garnish with cilantro and serve with Roti and salad
