Mango Salsa

When we think of salsa we think of salsa with a tomato base which is very popular when served with chips at parties and get together. This sweet and savory mango salsa is a perfect blend of juicy mango, onions, tomatoes, peppers, jalapenos and cilantro all tossed together and seasoned with lemon juice, paprika and seasoned salt to bring out the flavors.

This salsa is very colorful, bright, easy and simple to put together. Normally I love to use this tropical fruit to make mango custard or mango smoothies and other deserts. This salsa is a good switch from the traditional salsa to a burst of colors in the salsa.

It is important to select ripe mangoes that are still quite firm so that they can hold their shape in the salsa. If the mangoes are soft then they will end up with a mushy texture in the salsa. Mango salsa is perfect when served as a dip for chips or a topping for fish tacos or grilled chicken. I made this salsa to compliment my creamy grilled chicken (which will be published on Wednesday).

Mango Salsa

This mango recipe uses a handful of fresh ingredients for a healthy and fat free recipe. This recipe is not only simple but sweet and tangy with a little heat that comes from the jalapenos.
This recipe is great  as an appetizer or could be used as a topping over grilled chicken, fish or tacos. This recipe calls for cubes of fresh mangoes, which are combined with diced red onions, tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapenos, paprika, cilantro, seasoned salt and lemon juice to make a perfectly delicious salsa.
Its a great anytime salsa.
