According to my family, this is one of their favorite dishes as it is very saucy and comforting. My son in law could opt to have this 365 days of the year. This dish incorporates Indian spices, tomato sauce and heavy cream and butter as the base for gravy. It can be served over rice or with nan but I prefer to serve with vegetable pilaf so this way the dish incorporates proteins and well as vegetables.
I used to cook with all spices from my kitchen and now I use Shan Butter Chicken masala and it turns out yummy! Whenever this dish comes on the table every little morsel in the dish is devoured till it all vanishes.
Origin of the butter chicken meatballs – I used to always cook butter chicken kababs with chicken breast. One day I ended up having ground chicken in the fridge. I wondered if I could use the ground chicken to make meatballs in this buttery sauce. This led to this recipe. Once it became a massive hit in the family I have continued to cook this over the years.
