Moong dal is a healthy comfort food  prepared from yellow split lentil. It is rich in protein  and is a staple food in India and a main source of protein for vegetarians. Moong dal is one of the most favored dal or lentil in Indian cuisine as it is easy digestible. It is said to be Tridoshic and can balance any disturbances in the body hence it is used to make various dishes like dal, khichdi, dal soup and moong dosa.

This recipe is a hand down from my mother. She used to make this whenever she made fish fry as it made an excellent combination. Hence I follow her footsteps and make it whenever I make fish.

It is a very simple, delicious and easy dish to make.
